Forums & SIGs

Forums are mapping rather the vertical structures of the Network, which focus particularly on collaborations between industry, reseach and the public sector for a particular market segment, like bioinformatics, life sciences, automotives, medicine, eGovermnent, etc.

At the moment, KDNet has four large thematical forums:
  • Web Mining Forum
  • Multimedia Mining Forum
  • Standards KD Forum
  • KD for Biosciences and Medical Care
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in KDNet are much smaller and more oriented towards KD research topics.
New SIGs in KDNet are:
  • Spatial/Temporal DM
  • Adaptive Methods for Economics
Each KDNet Member can propose new Forums and SIGs. The proposals have to be directed to the KDNet Office, who will forward them to the KDNet Management Board.
